Incentivada pela mãe, a comerciária Priscila Medeiros da Silva, 22 anos; e também pela avó materna, a professora aposentada Janaína Barboza de Medeiros, 46, ela sempre praticou esportes e atividades culturais. Além disso, foi incentivada à prática do balée do teatro.
Mas ela não parou por aí. o Jiu-jitsu também é uma das modalidades das quais ela pratica. Mas foi na leveza da patinação, numa combinação entre arte e esporte, que Pietra, há seis meses, descobriu este dom, destacando-se entre as demais colegas. Sobre as rodinhas. a dedicacão lhe rendeu a medalha de ouro na competição regional promovida pela Escola Arte Sobre Rodas, de Taquara.
Posteriormente, veio o convite por parte das treinadoras Rafaela e Roberta Benites, para representar a escola na competição do Mercosul, e ela não decepcionou. A mãe comenta que é a avó é a encarregada de levar e buscar a menina nas aulas. "Devido à minha rotina de trabalho, minha mãe acaba desenvolvendo um amor de avó ainda maior, pois estão sempre juntas", desta Priscila.
Os treinos, que acontecem duas vezes por semana, são realizados na sede da Associação dos Motoristas. Pietra ainda não freqüenta o ensino regular e compete na categoria Estreantes Fraldinha. Como o calendário de competições para este ano, em princípio, está encerrado, a menina se prepara para subir de nível no ano que vem, com o objetivo de participar do campeonato estadual.
"As treinadoras, que também comandaram outras garotas na competição, sempre destacaram o potencial dela com relação às coleguinhas da mesma idade" frisa a mãe. "É um orgulho sem tamanho. Conquistas sempre são importantes, quando são resultado de dedicação e paixão por um esporte, se tornam mais significativas ainda. É emocionante e surpreendente acompanhar o desenvolvimento da Pietra na patinação artística.
