A Secretaria de Obras e Vias Públicas trabalha na construção de um Half Pipe para a Pista de Skate do Parque Ecológico. A proposta é deixar o espaço mais completo e seguro para a prática de esportes e também para o lazer da população.

Indaiatuba é um município brasileiro no interior do estado de São Paulo. Pertence à Mesorregião e Microrregião de Campinas, localizando-se a noroeste da capital do estado, a 23º05'24" de latitude sul e 47º13'04" de longitude oeste, a uma altitude de 701 m. Ocupa uma área de 311,5 km² e sua população estimada pelo IBGE para 2017 era de 239 602 habitantes,[3] que a colocava na 32ª posição entre os municípios mais populosos do estado de São Paulo.
O projeto do Half Pipe foi desenvolvido com a colaboração da Askin e segue todos os padrões exigidos para a prática segura do skate. O Half é uma estrutura côncava, em forma de U, destinada a prática de esportes radicais, como o skate, patins ou BMX, que pode ser feita de madeira, ferro e outros materiais. Na Pista de Skate de Indaiatuba será um híbrido de alvenaria, ferro e chapas de aço, com 4 metros de altura, flat de 4,2 metros e raio de 3,6 metros. O vão livre do côncavo será de 11,4 metros.

Gaspar explicou que durante a reforma realizada no ano passado, o antigo Half Pipe foi demolido, porque não era seguro, mas que, na ocasião, comprometeu-se em dar continuidade às obras de remodelação da Pista, com a construção de um novo. "A obra é uma antiga demanda dos jovens que praticam esportes radicais na cidade. Estou cumprindo com o compromisso que assumi com eles e vamos oferecer um Half dentro dos padrões corretos e com a segurança necessária aos usuários do espaço", ressaltou.
Para o presidente da Askin, Cleber Lopes, esta conquista é fruto da união dos skatistas, que através da Associação, se reuniram em 2017 e foram ouvidos pelo prefeito. "Precisamos ocupar os espaços públicos com oportunidades. A Pista de Skate junto com a meia quadra de basquete e a Academia ao Ar Livre são ótimos exemplos disso, e o prefeito Nilson Gaspar abraçou a idéia e está nos dando todo o incentivo", contou. "Espaços como este são importantes, porque entendemos que o esporte é uma forma de manter a juventude longe das drogas e da violência", completou.
Reforma
A Pista de Skate do Parque Ecológico foi inaugurada em 2004 e no ano passado foi reinaugurada depois de passar por uma reformulação. O espaço foi todo remodelado e segmentado com o objetivo de atender as categorias iniciante, intermediária e avançada. Na ocasião, os serviços realizados no local incluíram a correção de alguns problemas nos obstáculos existentes e a montagem de novas rampas, além do reforço na iluminação e a reforma dos banheiros.
Entre as novidades implantadas no local no ano passado, também estão meia quadra de basquete nos moldes dos parques americanos, e uma Academia ao Ar Livre, que era um pedido da população do bairro. "Spaces like this are important because we understand that sport is a way to keep youth away from drugs and violence," he added.
Reform
The Skate Park of the Ecological Park was inaugurated in 2004 and last year was reinaugurada after going through a reformulation. The space was completely refurbished and segmented with the objective of attending the beginner, intermediate and advanced categories. On-site services included the correction of some problems in existing obstacles and the installation of new ramps, as well as reinforcement in lighting and bathroom remodeling.
Among the innovations deployed there last year, there are also half a basketball court in the mold of American parks, and an Open Air Academy, which was a request of the population of the neighborhood.
