Potência mundial quando se fala de skate; o Brasil irá conhecer nesta semana seus campeões brasileiros de 2019. A etapa Rio Grande do Sul, que faz parte do calendário nacional do circuito brasileiro de skate, o Oi STU Qualifying Series, irá reunir os 24 melhores skatistas entre homens e mulheres, de sexta (11) a domingo (13), no Skatepark do Parque Municipal do Imigrante, em Sapiranga.
Quatro atletas competirão em casa. São eles: Micael dos Passos, Deise dos Reis, Mariana Menezes e Lara Vargas. Pelo ranking. Héricles Fagundes também poderia disputar o evento, mas com uma fratura no braço esquerdo, o atleta segue em recuperação. Natural de Estância Velha, Micael dos Passos buscará seu segundo título no Skatepark de Sapiranga.
Atual número 8 do ranking brasileiro, Mica quer aproveitar o conhecimento da pista para alcançar novamente uma boa colocação. "A minha expectativa está muito grande para esta etapa. Ano passado eu consegui ganhar e é sempre muito bom competir em casa.
O calor do público nos ajuda e favorece muito as nossas manobras. Vou ter a família por perto, então quero conseguir fazer uma boa competição novamente e quem sabe chegar no pódio".
Entre as mulheres, Mariana Menezes possui a melhor colocação, ocupando a sétima posição do ranking nacional. Nascida em Porto Alegre: a gaúcha espera incentivar ainda mais meninas a praticarem o skate. IMinhas expectativas para o campeonato estão ótimas. "Eu estou muito feliz de poder participar de um campeonato tão importante, ainda mais no meu estado. Espero que a torcida possa me incentivar e que isso ajude que mais meninas do Rio Grande do Sul se interessem pelo skate. Tenho certeza que será um grande evento".
Por ser uma competição final com apenas 24 skatistas em cada naipe, o torneio se divide em semifinais, que serão disputadas no sábado (12), e finais, que acontecem no domingo (13). Os quatro primeiros atletas do ranking estão classificados diretamente para a final. Enquanto os outros vinte disputam as semifinais, em busca das últimas quatro vagas restantes.
No feminino, as atletas pré-classificadas são: Yndiara Asp, Dora Varella, Isadora Pacheco, e Emily Antunes, enquanto no masculino Murilo Peres, Augusto Akio, Vinícius Barbosa e Hugo Montezuma também já estão garantidos na final.
O circuito brasileiro de skate Oi STU Qualifying Series é idealizado e realizado pela Rio de Negócios em parceria com a Confederação Brasileira de Skate (CBSk), soma pontos para o ranking nacional das modalidades olímpicas Street e Park e definirá os campeões brasileiros de skate 2019.
Apresentado pela Oi, o STU Qualifying Series conta com apoio da Vans e TNT Energy Drink: além da parceria da Layback Beer, Evoke; Drop Dead e Canal Off.
A etapa Rio Grande do sul possui o apoio institucional da Prefeitura Municipal de Sapiranga e é homologado pela Confederação Brasileira de Skate (CBSk) e World Skate. O STU Qualifying Series - Etapa Rio Grande do Sul é realizado pela Associação de Skate da Svvell (ASSWELL) e financiado pelo Governo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - Secretaria do Esporte e Lazer por meio do Pró-Esporte RS LIE.
