Domingo (22), todas as ruas de Paris foram fechadas para carros, motocicletas e até veículos elétricos. O dia sem carro de 11h da manhã às 18h (de 6h às 13h em Brasília).
Todos os bairros parisienses, sem exceção, integram esta 5ª edição do dia sem carro. O evento, lançado em 2015 pela prefeita socialista de Paris, Anne Hidalgo, visa promover os transportes alternativos e conscientizar os moradores para a necessidade de lutar contra a poluição urbana.
A prefeitura colocou à disposição dos motoristas da região metropolitana de Paris e turistas estacionamentos e passagens de metrô mais baratos.
Só podem circular neste domingo os transportes públicos, táxis e ambulâncias, e mesmo assim a velocidade é limitada a 20 km/h nos quatro distritos centrais da cidade. Nos demais bairros, a velocidade máxima autorizada é de 30km/h. Os habitantes da capital poderão sair ou voltar para casa, mas para isso terão que comprovar o endereço.
Quem não respeitar as regras e for pego pelos diversos controles de polícia corre o risco de pagar uma multa de € 135 (cerca de 600 reais).
Normalmente, moradores e turistas aproveitam o dia sem carro lotando avenidas e locais importantes, como a avenida Champs Elyséees, a Praça da Concórdia. Mas este ano, além da chuva que começou a cair no início da tarde, várias estações do metrô estavam fechadas e linhas de ônibus desviadas, dificultando a locomoção das pessoas.
A secretaria de Segurança determinou o fechamento das estações, principalmente na região do Champs Elysées. A polícia alegou que precisava limitar o acesso à região devido à possibilidade de novas manifestações dos coletes amarelos, que ontem conseguiram realizar protestos na avenida.
Os parisienses reclamaram. Além de não poder usar o carro, tiveram que andar muito mais do que o previsto. A prefeita de Paris lamentou a decisão e garantiu que não foi consultada sobre o fechamento das estações de metrô.
