Na Copa do Mundo de BMX, realizada nos Estados Unidos, Paola Reis foi a melhor brasileira passando até a semifinal, nessa sexta-feira (13). O Brasil ainda contou com Júlia Alves, Priscila Stevaux, Andinho, Bruno Cogo e Renato Rezende na competição.
Paola Reis passou nas quartas em terceiro lugar, com 35.253. Depois, na semifinal, ficou em 5º em sua bateria. Por uma posição não foi a final da etapa dos EUA da Copa do Mundo, 0s 332 de diferença, mas o melhor resultado do Brasil nessa Copa do Mundo.
Júlia Alves foi eliminada nas quartas de final, com o sexto lugar da bateria e 36.172. Priscila Stevaux ficou nas oitavas.
O pódio feminino da Copa do Mundo de BMX, nos EUA, ficou para Laura Smulders, da Holanda, Alise Willoughby, dos Estados Unidos, e Judy Baauw, também da Holanda, com primeiro, segundo e terceiro lugar, respectivamente.
No masculino, o melhor brasileiro foi o Andinho, que chegou nas oitavas, mas caiu e não terminou a prova. Na primeira classificatória, passou em segundo lugar em sua bateria com 34.264, atrás apenas do americano Connor Fields. Na fase 1/16, Andinho passou em segundo lugar com 34.390. Nas oitavas, o brasileiro estava na terceira posição, quando sofreu uma queda, não terminou e acabou eliminado. Recebeu atendimento na pista, mas não preocupa já que saiu andando.
Renato e Bruno foram eliminados na fase 1/16. Bruno Cogo na primeira bateria passou em quinto lugar com 36.323. Depois, terminou com a oitava colocação da bateria com 36.426 e deu adeus à competição. Já Renato Rezende foi eliminado na mesma fase, com a sexta posição da bateria, terminando com 35.403.
O pódio masculino foi composto por Niek Kimmann, da Holanda, o francês Joris Daudet e o terceiro lugar também para a França com Jeremy Rencurel.
