Seleção argentina
Na fase de grupos, a Argentina terá pela frente a Seleção Nacional, num grupo B onde entram ainda Colômbia, e Chile.
“Portugal é uma potência a nível mundial, um rival incrivelmente digno de respeito. Sabemos que é uma equipa que joga há muitos anos junta e essa é a dificuldade que temos na Argentina: só nos juntámos um mês para preparar o Mundial. Metade dos jogadores estão a jogar em Portugal e esperamos estar à altura”, desejou o treinador, deixando ainda rasgados elogios a Carlos Nicolía e Lucas Ordoñez:
“Quem não gostaria de poder treinar Nicolía e Ordoñez numa equipa nacional ou em qualquer outra equipa? Uma vantagem para nós podermos contar com estes jogadores e com os restantes que jogam noutras equipas. Tenho o privilégio de poder treinar grandes craques, grandes estrelas. São jogadores que sabem o nome que têm, fora e dentro da pista. Para mim é muito satisfatório poder treiná-los, face à categoria que todos eles têm.”
Seleção argentina
Lucas Odroñez é um dos dois jogadores do Benfica – a par com o argentino Carlos Nicolía – na convocatória de José Luis Páez.
“É diferente porque estávamos habituados a fazer a nossa preparação em San Juan, na nossa casa. Mas estamos muito contentes por estarmos cá e agradecidos ao Benfica, bem como aos argentinos que nos apoiaram para estarmos aqui. Estamos contentes e a trabalhar muito bem”, assegurou o hoquista, à BTV.
“É um facto que vamos jogar com Portugal na fase de grupos do Mundial. Sabemos que há muitos países que escolhem hoquistas a jogar fora. Vamos tentar ganhar, mas só um país pode ser campeão do Mundo. Trabalhamos no duro, trabalhamos para vencer. Vamos ter Portugal na fase de grupos, são duas seleções que se conhecem de cor. Jogámos uns contra os outros no último campeonato. No final, os detalhes vão ser decisivos e espero que a Argentina possa vencer”, analisou.
Portugal, recorde-se, estreia-se com a Colômbia a 7 de julho, defrontando depois a Argentina, a 8 de julho, e fecha a fase de grupos com o Chile, no dia 9 o mesmo mês.
