Dois ciclistas brasileiros ficaram entre os cinco primeiros na 5ª etapa da Copa Latino Americana de BMX, que foi realizada neste sábado (20), no Parque Peñalolén, em Santiago, no Chile. Bruno Cogo conquistou o bronze, enquanto Renato Rezende conseguiu grande recuperação e terminou em quinto lugar.

Na prova final, uma queda envolvendo vários atletas acabou sendo decisiva para o resultado final. Renato Rezende estava em quarto lugar, já se aproximando para fazer a ultrapassagem quando houve uma queda bem na sua frente. Renato e outros ciclistas foram ao chão.

“Pelo menos eu não me machuquei, e nem ralei nada. Só que o cara caiu na minha frente e eu não consegui desviar a tempo”, disse Renato após a prova.

Com isso, Bruno Cogo, que estava mais para trás, fugiu da confusão, se aproveitou das quedas, assumiu a terceira colocação e foi assim até a linha final. Por sua vez, Renato Resende teve que fazer uma prova de recuperação. Ele levantou em sexto lugar e partiu para cima do chileno Francisco Rojas Martinez.

Pedalando mais forte que o adversário, Renato conseguiu ultrapassar o chileno e terminou a prova na quinta colocação.

Além de Cogo no terceiro lugar, o pódio da 5ª etapa da Copa Latino Americana de BMX teve no lugar mais alto o venezuelano Jefferson Milano, e o boliviano Jaime Quintanilla Cuenca no segundo lugar.
