O skate é um dos novos esportes olímpicos que estreiam em t6quíq-2020- o Comitê Olímpico internacional (COi) escolheu duas modalidades: park e street.
O critério de classificação é pelo ranking da entidade que rege o esporte no mundo, a worid Skate. Além de estar nos próximos Jogos um esporte em que os brasileiros se destacam e ocupam posições de liderança, outra boa notícia é que serão aqui os dois torneios que mais contam pontos para a tão desejada vaga olímpica.
Em setembro. São Paulo receberá o Mundial de Skate Park. de 10 a 15; e o Mundial de Skate Street, de 18 a 22.
Quem sair medalhista desses Mundiais certamente vai estar bem mais próximo dos Jogos Olímpicos de 2020.
Para o público, esta é a grande oportunidade de ver em ação as maiores estrelas do skate mundial. E melhor: a entrada é gratuita. O Mundial de Skate Park será realizado no Parque Cândido Portinari. "O mais importante de trazer esses dois grandes eventos é o benefício desportivo que vamos proporcionar aos nossos skatistas". disse Eduardo Musa, presidente da Confederação Brasileira de Skate (CBSk).

A brasileira Yndiara Asp. que no domingo (18) ficou em segundo lugar no Red Buli Bowl Rippers, em Marselha, na França, está entre as favoritas na modalidade Park ao lado das compatriotas Isadora Rodrigues, Dora Varella e Victoria de Souza Bassi.
Entre os homens, destaque para Luiz Francisco, quarto colocado na França. Pedro Barros. Herides Fagunes Galle, Pedro Quintas e Murilo Peres. "O Mundial é o campeonato mais importante de 2019 e é incrível poder viver isso aqui. no meu país*, disse Pedro Barros.
Destaques nacionais de street
O Mundial de Street será realizado no Parque do Anhembi e terá a presença de Rayssa Leal, de apenas 11 anos que já anda chamando a atenção das cãmeras. Pâmela Rosa, Letícia Bufonl, Virgínia Fortes Águas e Isabeily Ávila.
Outros destaques brasileiro na competição são Kelvin Hoefler, Giovanni Vianna, Felipe Gustavo, Carlos Ribeiro e Ivan Monteiro.
Estreia em Jogos Olímpicos
0 skate em Tóquio vai reunir os 80 melhores atletas do mundo, dos cinco continentes.
São 40 vagas são por gênero, masculino e feminino; distribuídas em 20 para o park e outras 20 para o street.
O critério de classificação vai funcionar da seguinte forma: vaga automática para o país sede. no caso o Japão, que leva uma para cada gênero e modalidade, totalizando 4.
As vagas restantes serão repartidas pelo ranking, sendo obrigatória a presença de pelo um menos um atleta por continente e máximo de três por país em cada categoria.
