Pela primeira vez na história do campeonato, uma piauiense poderá levar o nome do Piauí a um outro patamar no esporte. Isabela Marques, de apenas 20 anos, se mostra confiante em relação ao que pode apresentar dentro da competição.
“Estou confiante pelo fato de ter treinado bastante. Essa é a minha primeira vez participando do campeonato Oi STU QS, e sempre foi uma vontade que eu tive.
A importância de participar é saber que eu estou ali, sendo reconhecida por aquilo que eu sempre fiz.
Acho importante também porque são poucas meninas que treinam skate no Piauí e, pelo menos uma delas conseguiu chegar tão longe”, concluiu.
Isa Marques trabalha numa loja de calçados e recebeu uma folga da empresa para que pudesse participar da competição.
Com esse apoio, a piauiense se sentiu motivada para garimpar patrocínio e conseguiu descolar passagens aéreas para viajar.
Uma empresa de fora do mercado de esporte custeou a viagem da atleta.
O Piauí também será representado pelo atleta profissional, Thyago Costa, que sempre participa de competições importantes que envolvem o calendário nacional do skate.
Na etapa do Oi STU QS 2018, ele finalizou o ano em 23º lugar no ranking nacional onde disputou a colocação com mais de 250 skatista de todas as regiões do país.
“A minha expectativa é a melhor possível. Essa segunda etapa é especial porque está sendo realizada pela primeira vez no Nordeste. O meu objetivo é representar o Piauí, representar o Nordeste, fazendo um bom desempenho na medida do possível”, declarou.
Nesta sexta-feira (23) a competição inicia com treinos livres para os dois naipes. Já no sábado (23) acontecem as disputas eliminatórias das semifinais masculinas e femininas. No domingo (25) é dia das finais. A programação do evento inclui shows de bandas locais, oficinas de grafite, exposição de arte e apresentações culturais.
Para definir os melhores skatistas do ano são realizadas três etapas do Oi STU QS. A primeira delas foi realizada no Parque das Mangabeiras, em Belo Horizonte. A última está prevista para acontecer em São Paulo no mês de setembro. O evento tem chancela da Federação de Skate da Bahia (FESEB), da Confederação Brasileira de Skate (CBSk) e da World Skate. Além de definir o ranking brasileiro, O STU QS é base para formação da equipe olímpica de skate.
