"Quando recebi o texto criado pelo rapper Rodrigo Ogi [que narra o vídeo], identifiquei na hora o potencial cinematográfico que isso teria. Apesar dele se aplicar no contexto global de skate, como estamos falando de skate e cultura de rua no Brasil, São Paulo acabou se tornando quase que protagonista. Daí veio a ideia de trazer os personagens que compõem o universo paulistano”, explica Thales Banzai, diretor e produtor do filme Gato Preto, o primeiro de skate feito pela ÖUS para comemorar seus 11 anos de existência. “Criamos personagens e retratamos a relação das pessoas com a cidade de uma maneira bem filosófica. Tudo isso mostrando o melhor que nossos skatistas fazem nas ruas”, avisa Rafael Narciso, sócio e um dos fundadores da label que nasceu em Curitiba (em 2008.
As cenas contaram com a participação de moradores das ocupações 'Mauá', 'Prestes Maia' e "Ouvidor' na capital paulista. "Minha ideia sempre foi mostrar o ambiente urbano sob uma nova ótica, para que o caos urbano paulistano fosse repensado com um frescor no olhar", complementa Banzai.
