O treinador, Paulo Almeida, ressaltou a satisfação por estar de volta ao trabalho.
"É um prazer regressar a este Pavilhão e começar os trabalhos. Estamos todos com um grande espírito e muitas ambições para uma grande época. O Benfica quer sempre ganhar todos os títulos e nós não fugimos à regra. Seja em jogos oficiais ou em torneios, é sempre para ganhar", vincou o técnico em declarações à BTV.
Paulo Almeida falou também dos reforços da equipe feminina de hóquei em patins.
"As novas jogadoras dispensam apresentações. A Maca Ramos já tinha cá jogado e ganhado tudo pelo Benfica; a Marta Piquero é uma jogadora internacional espanhola, tricampeã do mundo; e as restantes [Margarida Brandão e Sofia Contreiras] são jogadoras que vêm para evoluir, ou seja, a ideia é ter uma equipa mais mista para abraçar todos os títulos que houver em disputa", afirmou.
O treinador verbalizou as pretensões das encarnadas para a temporada que se aproxima.
"O grande objetivo do Benfica é ser Campeão Nacional, mas claro que a Liga Europeia dá outro prestígio à equipa e ao Clube. Se eu pudesse escolher, queria ganhar o Campeonato Nacional e a Taça Europeia. O Benfica, em todas as provas em que entra, vai com espírito ganhador. O jogo só acaba ao fim dos 50 minutos e durante esse tempo a minha equipe tem de dar tudo em prol do Benfica. Quem quiser ganhar ao Benfica também tem de deixar a sua pele em campo", vincou.
O treinador do Benfica comentou ainda a entrada do Sporting na modalidade. "Penso que vai ser mais competitivo e que a Imprensa vai olhar para o hóquei em patins feminino de outra maneira, visto que os dérbis vão ser apaixonantes. Até gostaria muito que um dia o FC Porto pensasse lançar o hóquei em patins feminino para termos os três grandes no feminino. O primeiro Benfica-Sporting vai chamar a atenção de muita gente", prognosticou.
A equipe feminina de hóquei em patins do Benfica arranca oficialmente na temporada 2019/20 no dia 5 de outubro, com a disputa da Supertaça frente ao CACO.

Benfica's female roller hockey team started the 2019/20 preseason on Monday (August 26) with a training session at the Fidelidade Pavilion.
The coach, Paulo Almeida, stressed the satisfaction of being back at work.
"It is a pleasure to return to this Pavilion and start work. We are all in a great spirit and ambition for a great season. Benfica always wants to win all the titles and we are no exception. Whether in official games or in tournaments, it's always up for grabs, "the coach told BTV.
Paulo Almeida also spoke about the reinforcements of the women's roller hockey team.
