Quatro skatistas brasileiros cotados para representar o País nos Jogos Olímpicos de Tóquio-2020 e com chances de pódio foram anunciados nesta quarta-feira como novos patrocinados da BV, a marca de varejo do Banco Votorantim. Rayssa Leal e Kelvin Hoefler, do street, e Yndiara Asp e Murilo Peres, do park, vão receber um apoio financeiro por um ano, com possibilidade de renovar por mais um.
“Fiquei muito feliz com esse apoio e pelo diferencial da parceria, que incentiva a gente a realizar projetos. Minha meta a longo prazo é poder desenvolver o mercado do skate no Brasil. Tenho ideias para tentar revitalizar pistas, até porque o skate foi minha escola de vida”, afirmou Murilo Peres.
Os valores de patrocínio não foram revelados. A intenção da BV é ajudar atletas promissores e expandir a plataforma que foi lançada em novembro do ano passado unindo esporte e educação por meio da inclusão. “O skate está vindo de uma transição de estilo de vida para competição e é uma modalidade que tem muito pouco apoio fora do meio”, explicou Gabriel Ferreira, diretor executivo do Banco Votorantim.
A presença da instituição financeira numa modalidade de esporte radical evidencia o momento do skate no mundo. Após entrar no programa olímpico, ele está pulando os muros da comunidade do skate e chamando a atenção de grandes empresas de outros setores da economia.
“O fato de o skate entrar na Olimpíada faz ele ser mais respeitado e visto por outros olhos. É muito bom esse apoio de marcas fora do skate, que ajuda a nos dar suporte para viver disso. Está melhorando bastante e vejo até pessoas mais velhas, que antes tinham certo preconceito, começam a te admirar. O cenário está mudando”, comemora Yndiara Asp.
Além do quarteto do skate, a BV apoia institutos de nomes que fizeram história no esporte nacional, como Serginho Escadinha e Ana Moser (vôlei), Flávio Canto (judô), Marcelinho Machado (basquete), Mauro Menezes (tênis) e Bob Burnquist (skate). Para este ano, o foco será nesses seis projetos. “Mas com certeza daremos apoio para outras verticais no futuro, mas não agora”, avisou Ferreira.
