Representante feminina do Brasil na modalidade BMX racing na Olimpíada Rio-2016, a sorocabana Priscilla Stevaux (Shimano/Dougtraining/Chase Bicyles) inicia neste fim de semana o ciclo olímpico visando os Jogos de Tóquio-2020. Stevaux está desde o início de setembro na Argentina, onde prepara-se para a rodada dupla da Copa do Mundo UCI de BMX Supercross em Santiago Del Estero, neste sábado e domingo (29 e 30).
A ciclista chega para sua primeira competição visando Tóquio-2020 em boa fase, após ter conquistado o tetracampeonato brasileiro de BMX e de sagrar-se campeã pan-americana, ambas as competições em julho deste ano. “Estou muito feliz em poder representar meu País em mais uma Copa do Mundo, aqui na Argentina, neste novo ciclo olímpico. É muito bom quando chega a etapa da América do Sul. Nos sentimos mais em casa e, como de costume, consigo chegar mais cedo para me preparar melhor na pista”, destaca Priscilla.
“Espero começar o ciclo olímpico com o pé direito. Estou bastante animada e, depois da conquista do campeonato Pan-Americano Continental, na Colômbia, vou com muita garra em busca dos melhores resultados para o Brasil e, desta forma, fazendo com que conquistemos pontos preciosos já no início deste ciclo”, enaltece a sorocabana. “Diferentemente da seleção para Rio-2016, que contavam os cinco melhores resultados de cada um nos anos do ciclo, totalizando dez, desta vez valerá a soma das sete pontuações mais altas de cada atleta nos dois anos. Isso torna a disputa mais justa”, explica.
