Já Guilherme tirou o patins do armário da casa onde vive na Pituba, em Salvador, e partiu para o bairro de Tancredo Neves.
Todos se reuniram na quadra do Espaço Ceifar, neste sábado (10), em nome da patinação. O desafio era dançar enquanto patina, em no máximo dois minutos, sem cair ou tocar nos cones colocados no chão. É a segunda vez que a cidade sedia um campeonato de patinadores, que vieram, de cinco estados do Brasil.

Os 30 competidores revezavam-se para aquecer antes do apito inicial. Todos fazem do patins uma rotina diária e patinam de duas a quatro horas quantas vezes por semana necessário.
Aos 11 anos, o baiano Guilherme Cobas Costas conheceu o patins. Viu na televisão um campeonato francês sem ao menos saber do que se tratava. Descobriu a resposta pouco tempo depois, já que aqueles instantes de frente à televisão bastaram para o levar ao Jardim dos Namorados para patinar. Até hoje, o local é um dos favoritos pelos patinadores locais. "Patins para mim é igual a faculdade. Não tem isso de um ser maior que o outro", disse o estudante de Fisioterapia.
Um dos competidores mais aguardados era Max Santos, 19, vencedor de três campeonatos sul-americanos. O paulista competiu na modalidade Shalom Classic, que consiste em manobras em torno de uma fileira de cones. Até aqui, foram sete anos de patinação. O esportista dedica quatro horas por dia, três vezes por semana, à patinação. "A primeira vez que eu vi foi no Parque Ibirapuera. Desde então não parei mais", diz ele, que só dança em nome da patinação. "Só aqui a gente não tem vergonha".
A competição valeu 100 pontos no ranking nacional e mundial de patinação. O técnico em radiologia Zulu, um dos dois organizadores do evento, tentava fazer acontecer a competição já há um ano. "Ainda é complicado. Estamos tentando conseguir visibilidade", diz ele, que descobriu a patinação como um estilo de vida há três anos, incentivado por um amigo.
O patins em Salvador
O Jardim dos Namorados e a orla de Patamares, junto aos domingos nas Avenidas Magalhães Neto e Dique do Toróró. O esporte começou a se popularizar em Salvador há pouco mais de três anos, quando a acessibilidade de treino nas ruas e a chegada de novas lojas de patins deram o primeiro impulso. Foi quando Gabriela Morais, 21, desembarcou na capital baiana para investir na nova paixão.
A jovem deixou a família em Caruaru, interior de Pernambuco, para facilitar os treinos. "Lá em Pernambuco tinha mais dificuldade, até porque sou do interior. Hoje já temos os points do patins aqui", conta.
A Bahia, de acordo com o presidente da BBS, Rodrigo Morgado, tem apresentado um desenvolvimento no esporte. "Principalmente no fresstyle [modalidade livre]. Em 2016, vivemos um momento bom aqui. Agora espero que estejamos retomando", torce. É o que fizeram crer os competidores.
O competidor Rendson Soares, 9, por exemplo, escolheu Salvador para manter o título de melhor patinador, em sua faixa etária, no Rio Grande do Norte. "Eu vi um pessoal patinando numa praça e decidi começar. Foi por acasao", lembra ele, de um dia em 2017. O pai, o vigilante Rômulo, é seu fiel escudeiro no amor pelo patins.

The competition was worth 100 points in the national and world skating ranking. Radiologist Zulu, one of the two organizers of the event, had been trying to make the competition happen for a year. "It's still complicated. We're trying to get visibility," he says, who discovered skating as a lifestyle three years ago, encouraged by a friend.
The skates in Salvador

Bahia, according to BBS President Rodrigo Morgado, has shown a development in sports. "Especially in fresstyle [free mode]. In 2016 we have a good time here. Now I hope we are resuming," he says. This is what made the competitors believe.
Competitor Rendson Soares, 9, for example, chose Salvador to retain the title of best figure skater in his age group in Rio Grande do Norte. "I saw people skating in a square and decided to start. It was by chance," he recalls, from one day in 2017. The father, the vigilant Romulus, is his faithful squire in love with the skates.
