(Giuliano Bonamim)

The work of the artist Eduardo Kobra needs to be described with superlative adjectives. After all, he is the author of the largest graphite mural in the world - painted along the Castelo Branco highway, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. Nothing more suitable for this muralist born in the outskirts of the city of São Paulo, with works in 30 countries on five continents, leave his mark in the "city of exaggeration." In Itu, he created a 75-square-meter panel inside a skating rink - probably the largest enclosed space for practicing Latin American sport, with about one thousand square meters.

Kobra landed in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil, last week to transform a common wall into a work of art. With the help of three assistants, he left his mark with the traits and colors characteristic of his work.

The painting of Kobra was made in a space of 25 meters wide by 3 meters high, inside the space designed for skateboarding. In it, the artist portrays in detail the feet of two skaters doing maneuvers on the ground and in the air. "This is a bit my world, I'm an artist born in the street and I identify with this theme," he says.

The work in Itu is not the first of Kobra in the region. In March 2013, the artist was in Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil, to paint the wall of a bakery located in the Santa Rosália neighborhood. The work was part of the project "Murals of Memory", which depicts urban landscapes of the last century.

This work of Kobra in Sorocaba left on the wall the image of an old tissue factory, which gave its name to the region. The painting was done in white and black colors.

With its urban art, Kobra has rolled the world. After the passage through Itu, the muralist will put the ink aside to participate in the event "Creative Economy: Challenges for the Business Sector". The meeting will be held this Thursday (2), at 7:30 p.m., in the Technological Park of Sorocaba.

Outside the country, Kobra was at the end of last year in New York to realize the author project "Colors for Freedom". There, he painted a series of 19 murals - 12 of them in Manhattan. Now, it prepares for new challenges in Israel and will produce a series of Europe and the United States.
