Segundo o documento da federação moçambicana de patinagem a que Angop teve acesso quarta-feira, os motivos do adiamento da competição estão relacionados com a falta de condições logísticas para albergar a prova na data prevista.
A comunicação, assinada pelo presidente da Federação moçambicana, Nicolau Manjate, enviado à Federação Internacional de Roller Skate (FIRS), não menciona uma nova data.
Além de Angola e da seleção anfitriã, a prova conta também com a África do Sul e o Egipto. O vencedor qualifica-se diretamente para o Campeonato do Mundo em 2019 em Barcelona (Espanha).
No último Campeonato do Mundo, disputado em 2017 na China, a seleção nacional de angola ficou na quinta posição.
O novo modelo de qualificação para o Mundial saiu do congresso da World Skate realizado em 2017, na China.
