Voluntários participaram pela primeira vez da abertura da pista de patinação perto do GUM.

Instalada no centro da Praça Vermelha, a pista de patinação virou um dos principais símbolos do inverno na capital russa, sendo aberta dias antes do Natal e Ano Novo.

A pista, junto com a feira perto do famoso shopping, cria um ambiente de festa e magia pelo 13º ano consecutivo, e neste ano ela está decorada com personagens de desenhos animados populares soviéticos e russos.

A cerimônia de abertura contou com a participação de vários artistas e atletas russos, que aproveitaram as atrações e parabenizaram pelo 5º aniversário o grupo de mídia Rossiya Segodnya, que junto com a agência de notícias internacional Sputnik é parceiro informativo oficial da pista de patinação.
